I think a lot of people who think they have “bad style” or that they have no style at all are unknowingly manifesting their own style demise. By having this idea that you have “no style” you are subconsciously stifling your own style potential. By having this negative mentality in your head you end up projecting that onto yourself before you’ve really given yourself a chance to succeed. We end up limiting our style because of this. I’m here to show you that there are simple easy changes that will open up your horizons and help you get to that style success we all desire. Here’s some things you are doing wrong with your style without even realizing.
3 things you’re doing WRONG w/ your style
1. You think you’re not apart of the fashion scene
I know a lot if people think that they’re not “into fashion” or their not apart of the “fashion world” when in reality, you’re apart of it whether you like it or not. I believe this quote from “The Devil Wear’s Prada” sums it up well,
"'This…Stuff?' Oh. Okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select , I don’t know that lumpy blue sweater, for instance because you are trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don’t know is that that sweater is not just blue, its not turquoise. It’s not lapis. Its actually cerulean. And you’re also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then i think it was Yves Saint Laurent – wasn’t it who showed cerulean military jackets? And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers. And then it, uh, filtered down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic Casual Corner where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and its sort of comical how you think that you’ve made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact you’re wearing a sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room from a pile of stuff.”
By having this mindset you’re closing yourself off from the amazing fashion you could be indulging in.

2. You think you “could never wear that”
A lot of us steer ourselves away from a style of clothing because we think, “I could never wear that”. Or we think that it works for someone else but we would look “crazy” if we wore that.
NO.
The difference between you and them is that they had the guts to do it. The key to successfully owning an bold outfit is to have the confidence to match. Confidence is the best accessory you can have because it means you 100% believe in the outfit you’re wearing. When you’re confident, it shines through. If you breakthrough that doubt you have, I promise you can wear anything. As long as you wear it pride, no one’s gonna question you. So if you’re wanting to try something but you’re not sure if you could rock it,
girl, just do it.
3. You’re not dressing for your body
I’ve come to notice that a lot people aren’t dressing for their body. People are all different shapes and sizes, which is why clothes fit differently from person to person. It can be hard to figure out how to dress for your body. A tip I believe is really helpful to find a celebrity with a similar body type as you and see what they wear. You don’t have to necessarily copy their style but just see what looks good on them and apply it to your own personal style. Like for example, I personally look to Ariana Grande for style inspiration because we have a very similar petite frame. I can assume what styles look good on her will compliment my body as well.
I hope these tips help you to bring your style to it’s full potential. Of course theres many other tips I could think of but I thought these 3 were just some of the most important ones, at least for myself.
If theres any other important tips you can think of that I didn’t mention, comment them down below!!!
